Meet Our Principal
Dear Wildcat Families and Community,
I have been serving students in the Queen Creek Unified School District for more than 20 years. I began in the Queen Creek District as a fourth-grade teacher at Jack Barnes Elementary, where I taught second, third, and fourth grade and served as the data specialist. I then transitioned to Queen Creek Junior High (QCJH) as a science and social studies teacher prior to becoming an assistant principal. I am excited to serve students, parents, staff, and community members in my current role as principal. My educational background includes a degree from Cal State Bakersfield along with a Masters degree in Education Leadership as well as School Counseling.
At QCJH, we provide a rich tradition of academic and extracurricular success. We believe our continued success is due to a positive, collaborative culture, comprised of students, staff, and our supportive community. I encourage you to be involved in any way that fits your schedule, whether it is being part of our PTSO, School Site Team, volunteering for school-wide events, or simply providing a quiet place at home for completing homework. We value your involvement in your child’s education.
One thing I think is important for all parents of junior high students to remember is to be patient with your child and communicate often with your child and their teachers. The transition from elementary to junior high can be daunting. For seventh graders, moving from one or two teachers to six teachers along with lunch and new friend groups can be extremely emotional. Preparing for high school can also be stressful, as eighth-grade students decide what to do with their academic future. Consistent communication and grace can go a long way.
We are proud of our junior high students, our staff, and our community and we love to highlight the great things happening in our school. Please follow us on our social media platforms and our website to stay up to date on all the incredible activities happening at QCJH.
Warm Regards,
Beverly Nichols
